It's time to work together

An open letter to elected officials, neighbors, friends, family, community organizers, activists, volunteers and spiritual leaders,

Let your voices be heard. Appeal to the grace and dignity of your neighbors, Republicans, Democrats and independents alike. We need to come together and help heal our country and we can start right here. The future we all face is daunting. We have so many challenges ahead. We all need to work together. 

This is an opportunity to stand up for what is decent and remarkable in all of us. This is a moment to reflect light into the darkest corners of our community, of our state, our country and in our own hearts.

The hate some people continue to foster and display is disgraceful and we believe is based on fear. They do not represent the majority of Americans or what is in the hearts of many across this great country. Nor do they represent the people of this amazing community.

We are a community of individuals who have shown their greatness in every possible way. It is time to put partisan differences aside and work together as Americans.
