Bonner County is home to many true Democrats

In a recent letter to the editor, it seems we have a member of our community making assumptions without having the facts.

I consider myself a "true Democrat." As a matter of fact, I come from a long line of proud Democrats who have both served and worked for our country, in the public and private sectors. I am proud that Democrats stand up for middle-class families on an endless list of issues including education, healthcare, our economy, protecting Social Security, promoting small business and entrepreneurship locally and throughout our country, fair and living wages for everyone, and fighting to protect and uphold the Constitution of United States!

I know many Republicans and independents who care deeply and work towards solutions to many of these problems we face today.

We may not always agree upon the same path but, by working toward solutions and being forward thinking we all share one thing: we are "favorable to progress or reform, as in political or religious affairs." This is the first definition of the word "liberal" at dictionary.com.
