CLARK FORK - Clark Fork senior lineman Chase Chowning and sophomore running back/linebacker Howard Katzenberg were each named to the All-North Star League football team, as voted on recently by the league's coaches.

At 6-5, 240 pounds, Chowning anchored both of the lines for the Wampus Cats, grabbing the eyes of opposing coaches with his well-rounded  and steady play.

"He was an excellent choice, one of the highest vote getters," said head coach Brian Arthun. "His leadership on both lines was invaluable. He started alongside three new guys and his experience and knowledge brought the guys along."

Arthun said Katzenberg was a testament to hard work paying off, and believes he'll return to be one of the team leaders again next year.

"Quite an honor for a sophomore," said Arthun of Katzenberg. "He just went about his job, prepared hard and led by example. He went every play as hard as he could last year, and a lot of the other kids saw how hard he worked."

League champion and state runners up Kootenai placed five players on the 15-member team, including league MVP Dakota Amy.
