Tractor-trailer hit with gunfire

SANDPOINT — Idaho State Police are turning to the public for information about a shooting incident on U.S. Highway 95 at the Bonner/Boundary county line on Monday night.

A tractor-trailer headed south on the highway when a gunshot pierced its windshield and lodged in the rig's passenger-side door, state police said. The shooting occurred at about 10:18 p.m. about a half-mile north of milepost 492.

No injuries were reported.

State police released no further details on Tuesday. A call seeking additional information was not immediately returned.
