Chamber hosting marketing workshop

| November 26, 2008 8:00 PM

SANDPOINT - The Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce's Nonprofit Development Council released a workshop series in September designed to support and develop organizations. The next workshop will focus on marketing nonprofit organizations.

"Marketing a nonprofit is an essential element to successfully serve the people you are helping," said executive director Amy Little. "Even though a 501(c)3 is not-for-profit, they still have to sell their mission in order to gain volunteers and financial support," she said.

The marketing workshop will address how to promote your organization through newsletters, websites, brochures, public events, etc. The session is taught by Tricia Sullivan, a philanthropist who has worked for a variety of nonprofit organizations for the last 15 years. She encouraged attendees to bring their promotional materials to gain specific tips to improve their message.

Whether you serve on a board of directors, volunteer, or work at a nonprofit organization, you are invited to attend this workshop. The workshop will be held on Dec. 5 at the Sandpoint Center Community Room, located at 414 Church St. Registration begins at 7 a.m. and the workshop will be from 7:30-9 a.m.

The cost is $15 for chamber members and $20 for non-members and includes a light breakfast and materials. Scholarships are also available.
