Take a moment and thank those around you
Where did the term "thank you" go?
Maybe it is lost in the hustle and bustle world we live in today. It seems to me "thank you" died a quiet death a day or two before the act of waving at people perished.
I blame TV. I blame text messages. I blame parents who don't lead by example. I blame anybody who doesn't take that extra second to acknowledge those around who make their lives better.
Sounds like you? It feels like me right now.
Thanksgiving should be about second chances. Perhaps Thanksgiving dinner is where the term going back for seconds came from.
I want to get the ball rolling by thanking my lovely wife and precious children who make every day a heart-filled adventure.
Because of my wife, I also am lucky enough to have the greatest in-laws in the world, Blaine and Nancy Piatt. Thank you for watching your grandchildren at a moment's notice and introducing them to the wild world of four-wheeling, huckleberry picking and unconditional love.
Thanks to all of you folks who work with me. I am truly blessed to have the best job in the world and you are the reason I feel that way. Thanks for all you do and go ahead and take today off.
Thanks to Jeremy Faust and DeHart Painting. Do you remember all of that graffiti that was polluting buildings in and around Sandpoint? Jeremy, DeHart Painting and the Paint Bucket had an agreement that the Paint Bucket would furnish the paint to cover up the graffiti, if Jeremy and company would do the work. They did and the area is better for it and better for having a good soul like Jeremy.
Thank you to the numerous people who enrich all of our lives. I'll bet you can think of a few. I can think of many who I can't list here.
Thank you for reading this editorial and I wish you and yours a wonderful Thanksgiving.
