Businesses' support made event successful
Sandpoint's businesses are great supporters when it comes to meeting a need in the community. The Autumn Daze Chili Cook-off at Evergreen Sandpoint Assisted Living wouldn't have happened without the generosity of delicious pots of chili donated by Café Trinity, Oishii Sushi, and Joel's Mexican Food, topped with cheese and sour cream condiments from Emerald Distributing. Along with chilies prepared by our own cooks, facility residents and the public sampled the results of six outstanding recipes.
After all the votes were counted, Chef Eddie's black bean and pork chili from Café Trinity tied for first place with our cook's, Charlotte Olsen, whose chili used kidney beans, peppers and beef. Charlotte and Eddie shared the gift basket prize for the winning cook: wine from Pend d'Oreille Winery, fine chocolates from Great Stuff, and Doma coffee beans from Common Knowledge Book Store and Tea House.
We also appreciated Ilani Kopiecki's expertise in chair massage, Doug and Kim Bond's great music, and the use of folding chairs from First Lutheran Church.
Thank you one and all.
