Majestic downtown maple needs to be preserved

I understand the majestic maple on the southeast corner of the Fourth and Oak that turns a brilliant bronze in the fall is in danger of being cut down.

The fact that Sandpoint is a tree city and we are designating certain trees heritage trees, I would hope that this tree can be saved. I am sure many of us would miss this tree as we do the willow that was on the corner of Larch and Boyer.
