Federal government has broken many promises

| October 1, 2008 9:00 PM

My promise to fellow Americans: Be you Republican or Democrat, I (the federal government) do hereby promise to all my servants a pursuance of the status quo, thanks to your continued support of career incumbents. Despite what I say, I promise:

To articulate what you want to hear, and subsequently do nothing.

To come to the aid of any country who asks for it, friend or foe, at your expense.

To continue to borrow against your general fund when I need money, without your prior approval.

To continue to buy oil from other countries that hate us, and pass that expense on to you.

To do everything I can to keep Congress in gridlock with a two-party system.

To make it extremely difficult for third parties to qualify for the ballot.

To lie and hide the truth should I deem it necessary to protect our government's agenda.

To print more money as I see fit when I need it. I will pass the cost on to you.

To add amendments to the Constitution when it suits my purpose, such as additional taxes.

That eventually all illegal immigrants will be granted amnesty.

To keep the "illusion" of prosperity alive.

What a great country we have become. Does anyone else have any other "promises" to add to this list?
