Richard 'Rik' Lang

Richard "Rik" Crosby Lang, of Cocolalla, Idaho, died peacefully at home on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008.

He was born March 18, 1951, in Hartford, Conn., the middle son of Cathalee (Crosby) and Robert Treat Lang Sr.

Rik attended elementary , junior, and senior high schools in Golden, Colo. He spent several years in Sarasota, Fla., before moving to Idaho in 1980.

Rik was a member of the Sandpoint Christian Fellowship. His participation in the congregation was of central importance to his life.

Rik will be missed for his kindness and generosity of spirit.

He cared for and took in strays, both animal and human.

He was a true and loyal friend.

He manifested his love of nature by using her raw materials to craft his unique artworks.

Rik was preceded in death by both parents and his nephew Joshua Payson Lang.

He is survived by his son, Tyler; his older brother, Robert Treat Lang Jr. and partner Lois Jarrett; his younger brother, Andrew Payson and Ann Lang; and his nephew, Justis Joseph Treat Lang.

Memorial services for Richard "Rik" Lang will be Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008, at 4 p.m. at the Sandpoint Community Hall, 204 S. First Ave., Sandpoint.
