Left will say anything to get elected to office

| October 6, 2008 9:00 PM

This letter is in response to a Newsweek article written by Sam Harris crucifying Sarah Palin. I read this whole piece and do not agree. What possible qualifications do you think Obama has that makes him any more up to the challenge? Two years in the Senate?

What either candidate has in lieu of experience is bright people around them who spell things out from different positions and allow them to make hopefully intelligent decisions. Clinton was a governor with questionable qualifications and he somehow made it through.

The assassination of Palin by the left is unprecedented and will hopefully backfire as the people need fresh, conservative leadership, unspoiled by years of Washington politics. Only McCain can navigate the country to prosperity again. Murdoch, Buffet, and Trump agree that an Obama tax plan coupled with more entitlement programs will hurt the country and hinder recovery especially in the small business sector, our backbone.

It's the same old Democratic lines, Obama will say anything to get elected.  They have been promising the poor people hope for 50 years and they are still poor.

As a small businessman, I'm on my own to prosper or go down in flames, and I don't need more government control. If I make a little after the risks I take I think I deserve to keep the reward. I'm not looking to the government to make me whole if I lose my bacon. Too many lazy people eating off the entitlements flowing out there. Much of what the liberals propose sounds wonderful in theory but quite impractical in practice.

Benjamin Franklin said "If you are young and not liberal, you have no heart." If you are older and are not conservative, you are a fool." I still love my liberal family members in spite of their well meaning ideas about things.
