Both parties share blame for financial problems

| October 11, 2008 9:00 PM

Blaming the Bush administration for our financial problems is disingenuous. The Democrats hold 51 seats n the Senate and House votes outnumber the Republicans by a count of 233 to 202. The President does not have complete control of this country.

Take Barney Frank for instance. He spent years blocking Republican lawmakers from tightening regulations on the mortgage industry. In 1991, the year Frank's former partner was hired by Fannie Mae. Frank pushed the agency to loosen regulations on mortgages that had a default rate twice and five times of the rate of single homes. Three years later, Clinton's administration attempted to impose new regulations on Fannie Mae but Frank managed to put a stop it. Bill Clinton recently stated that Frank and Democrats of his bear responsibility for our present financial crisis.  Hasn't everyone seen the CNN tapes of Democrats denying any problems with Freddie Mac and Fannie May and becoming downright indignant about being questioned about their stability.

Get to the polls, vote for the candidate you believe in, but let's not kid ourselves, there is plenty of blame in both parties
