Irma P. Ridley, 80

Irma P. Ridley, 80. passed away in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008.

Memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17, in the First Lutheran Church. Pastor Steve Neuder will officiate.

Irma was born in Haxtun, Colo., on Sept. 8, 1928, the daughter of Paul and Sadie Tillberg.

The family moved to the Sandpoint area in August 1942 and she graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1946. On Dec. 26, 1948, she and Howard Ridley were married and they lived at the south end of Division Street. For many years the family helped care for the Lakeview Cemetery, which was across the street.

She volunteered for more than 20 years with the Sandpoint Senior Thrift Store. She enjoyed league bowling for many years in the Sandpoint Leagues and playing bingo.

She was a loyal sports fan following the Seattle Mariners and the Seattle Seahawks.

Her friends, her family especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren were very important to Irma.

She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Sandpoint and the Eagles Lodge Auxiliary. For many years she participated, with the drill team, in Eagles Lodge ritual competition.

Irma is survived by two daughter, June (and Randy) Campbell of Dover, Idaho, and Carla Barnes of Gaithersburg, Md.; four sons, Jack (and Donna) Ridley of Dover, Wayne (and Claudia) Ridley of Sandpoint, Kirk (and Debi) Ridley of Anchorage, and Gary (and Barbara) Ridley of Sandpoint; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mae (and Walt) Burt of Sandpoint and Gloria Buck of Deer Lodge, Mont.; two brothers, Steve (and Maureen) Tillberg and Stan (and Nancy) Tillberg, all of Sandpoint; and her best friend, Lucille Kibler of Sandpoint.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Howard; and three brothers, Paul, Morris, and Johnny.
