John A. Dreps
John A. Dreps passed away Monday, Sept. 22, 2008, in Reno, Nev., of pneumonia.
John was born Aug. 16, 1941, in Lewiston, Idaho, to Urban and Jennie Woodcock Dreps.
He graduated from Lewiston High School in 1959 and the University of Idaho in 1964. In 1975, he graduated from the Pacific Coast School of Banking at the University of Washington in Seattle.
John married Kathleen McNichols on Sept. 12, 1964, in Boise, Idaho. They divorced in October 1977.
After graduation from the University of Idaho, John was employed by Idaho First National Bank. He worked in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho Falls, Sandpoint and Moscow. He retired from banking and became a venture capitalist and scientific seeker of precious metals in Fallon, Nev.
John was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity, the Elks, Moose, Rotary Club, and the Moscow Chamber of Commerce, serving as its president.
John was preceded in death by an infant daughter and by his father.
He is survived by his mother, Jennie Dreps of Clarkston, Wash.; a daughter, Christine Dreps of Tallahassee, Fla.; a son, Michael Dreps of Lake Waukomis, Mo.; a sister, Nettie (and Bill) Allen of Sagle, Idaho; a brother, Josef (and Amy) of Coeur d'Alene; and four grandchildren.
Memorial Mass was celebrated Monday, Oct. 6, 2008, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Clarkston, Wash. The Rev. Tom Connolly officiated.
Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home of Lewiston handled the arrangements.
