Election gives voters a chance to vote Democrat
I've talked to many voters and most claim to be independents. These independents assure me they vote for the individual — not the party.
This election gives them an opportunity to exercise that independence. Taking a look at Idaho's U.S. Senate race we have the man who gave Idahoans a 20-percent increase in sales tax while giving a $200 million tax break to big corporations and land owners. In the U.S. Congressional District 1 race, the Republican is a man that is so disliked that leadership threatened to throw him out a window. He has yet to pay off the 2006 campaign debt while running in 2008.
In legislative districts 1 and 2, all the incumbents voted in favor of the 20-percent sales tax increase because their temporary governor — the aforementioned U.S. senatorial candidate — told them that property taxes were too much of a burden on big business. It doesn't appear that they even gave a thought to the impact of this increase on the majority of Idaho's families.
Independents, here's your chance to vote for a change in the way Idahoans are represented. Vote for the candidates who will best represent Idaho in Washington, D.C., and Boise — vote Democrat!
