John R. Meredith, 57

John R. Meredith, 57, passed away on Monday, Oct. 20, 2008, at his home near Sandpoint, Idaho.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 24, in Coffelt's Funeral Chapel. Hal Burrows will be officiating.  Interment will be in the Pack River Cemetery.

John was born in Mesa, Ariz., on Jan. 3, 1951, and attended schools in that area.

In 1961, he moved to Sandpoint and attended Sandpoint High School.

On Nov. 23, 1983, he and Rose were married in Sandpoint.

He worked for the Sandpoint Cheese Company and for the Louisiana Pacific sawmill. He became a certified lumber grader and retired, for health reasons, in January 2008. 

John enjoyed being in the great outdoors, four-wheeling, and hunting. He loved spending time with his family and his friends.

He is survived by his wife, Rose Meredith of Sandpoint; six children, Barbara (and Brian) Godsill, DeeDee (and Jose) Rios, John K.C. (and Brandi) Meredith, Jennifer Meredith all of Nampa,  Ilene (and John) Rainey, and Monica (and Steve) Reeves both of Sandpoint; and 20 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and a sister.
