Congressman working hard to help taxpayers
Walt Minnick approved an ad that ran and ran, claiming Bill Sali "repeatedly failed to pay his taxes and bills and owes over $125,000 on his last campaign, so … we shouldn't trust him (with our money)."
Yes, indeed, Congressman Sali had some hard financial times decades ago as a result of medical bills from auto accidents that the insurance would not fully cover. Eventually, he did manage to get those taxes and bills paid.
As for the debt still owing on his last campaign, that just tells me that we can count on Bill Sali to not unduly cater to big-money interests at the expense of the little guy. He has, and will continue to, put us first.
As a first-term U.S. congressman, Bill Sali has earned many notable financial accolades and endorsements, including the endorsement of the National Federation of Independent Businesses, the "Taxpayers Friend Award 2007" from the National Taxpayers Union, the "2007 Hero of the Taxpayer Award" from Americans for Tax Reform and the "Taxpayer Hero" from Citizens Against Government Waste.
So … if Congressman Sali really did vote to "keep secret from taxpayers billions of dollars in earmarks" as the ad asserts, I figure there must be something they're not telling us about that bill.
