Elgar's character, skills are what region needs

| October 29, 2008 9:00 PM

Water is a critical issue in North Idaho. West to the Pacific Ocean and south to the  Mexican border the arguments over water are becoming a continual way of life. These areas are thirsty and their residents are likely to demand an approach to water legislation - whether involving Federal, State or Tribal interests - unlikely to be in the best interests of North Idaho.

Our region needs a representative like Steve Elgar in the legislature who is familiar not just with the issues but with their complexity; one whose experience and approach to problems ensures he will not be swayed by pseudo-science, half-truths or outright lies (like for example tree-roots poisoning salmon - remember that one?).

Steve Elgar's varied background, professional history and experience make him the compelling candidate to represent District 1A in these difficult times. His character, enthusiasm, education and proven tenacity should commend him to your vote.
