Marvin Martin Stutzke, 81

Marvin Martin Stutzke, 81, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2008 at his home in Hope, Idaho, overlooking beautiful Lake Pend Oreille

Marvin was born on Sept. 23, 1927, in Illinois, the son of Max and Rosie Stutzke. He lived in Spokane, Wash., prior to moving to Hope in 1947. 

On Aug. 7, 1949 he married Bernita Perry in Superior, Mont. 

Marvin was an accomplished stone mason and worked with his father and brothers on such well known local buildings as the Litehouse Restaurant, J.R. McFarland's home, East Hope City hall, Dr. Forrest Bird's home, and numerous other family homes. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, hiking, picking huckleberries, and spending time with family and friends.

Marvin is survived by three children, Sharon (Jack) Parkins of Sandpoint, Bruce (Bernie) Stutzke of Hope, and Christine (Bill) Currie of Hope. He also was very proud of his five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jessica, Nathan, Brent, and Christopher; as well as five great-grandchildren, Anna, Mason, Alex, Andrew, and Emma. Marvin is also survived by  four brothers, five sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Bernita, and three sisters.
