Know the terminology before you vote

| October 30, 2008 9:00 PM

With all the media putting forth words like socialist, socialism, Marxism, Marxist, fascism and fascist, it got me to be really concerned. What are they talking about. Here in America. The red, white and blue. The pledge, "one nation under God." "In God we trust" on our money. What in the world is going on?

Well, the good old Webster dictionary was put to use. It was worth the effort. But, then I had to get facts as to these words going out over the air waves; so on the computer to find the actual wording used. That is knowledge. So with the knowledge (facts), brings some understanding of these words: Socialism, Marxist.

Once I got to understand the terms being used, I now have to make a decision. Which brings me to wisdom. I now had to use discernment with the knowledge (facts), the understanding to put wisdom into making a decision. Were these just remarks for a reaction. Well, the reaction for me?

I sure did find out these words do relate to "spread the wealth" such as socialism. Then the comment "from each according to his ability to each according to his work," a Marxist comment.

So, who am I voting for? That right, it's a question for all of us on Nov. 4.

See you at the polls Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008, 8 a.m.-8 p.m.
