Lakeside hands Clark Fork, 41-6 loss
PLUMMER - Clark Fork head coach Brian Arthun was able to at least crack a joke after the game, saying if it wasn't for those 45 points it was a decent night for the Wampus Cats in their 51-6 loss at Lakeside Thursday night.
It has been one of those seasons every coach of an 8-man football team has, as the Wampus Cats (0-8, 0-8 NSL) were unable to win a game. Despite the defensive struggles and inability to run the ball, Arthun found a silver lining in play of freshman quarterback Stillman Berkley, who found Chaunce Nesbitt on a 15 yard strike for the only score.
"It was kind of a coming out party for Stillman," said Arthun, whose young team improved and showed flashes for the future this season. "He showed a lot of poise and threw the ball really well."
The game was called in the fourth quarter because of the 45 point rule.
