My Story

Last summer I was swimming along with my friend in the lake and a saw a delicious looking worm. I thought that a floating worm during the middle of a warm, sunny day was a little suspect, but I said to my friend 'what the heck, you only live once" and swallowed it whole. Suddenly I felt a sharp stinging sensation in the side of my mouth and the worm had developed a long spindle that was pulling me upward! I tried to resist, but the worm's appendage was too strong. My friend laughed at me as I was pulled from the water. I put my head in my shell and prepared for the worst. I imagined being shucked like a clam and devoured by a voracious Bigfoot. At least it was be over quickly, I thought.

After what seemed like an eternity, I noticed that things had quieted down outside the shell. Perhaps the Bigfoot had forgotten me, or had found something better to eat. I poked my head outside of my shell and noticed several fluffy objects in the dark. There was no water and I was very confused. I now know that this is what my captors refer to as the sock drawer, and why they thought a turtle like me would be happy here I'll never know.

I've now grown to like my caretakers. They let me swim in the bathtub and feed me yummy worms and goldfish. Those goldfish are so stupid and easy to catch! There is a large four-legged animal that lives with them that I do not like. It sticks its furry head into my space and tries to drink my water. I like to bite him on the tongue when he does this. Also, my caretakers like to try to dress me up from time to time with party hats and various other accessories. This is a little annoying, but I tolerate it for the good food.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed my story and will be a regular blogger.
