Emelia (Mead) Tebaldi , 87

Emelia (Mead) Tebaldi passed away Aug. 28, 2208. She was 87. A former resident of Seneacquoteen, Idaho.

Emelia was the last of the Mead descendants.

Emelia was born in Spokane, Wash., on Jan 27, 1921. Her and her family moved to Seneacquoteen in 1923, where she lived her younger years on the Pend Oreille River on the Mead Ranch.

She went to college in Stockton, Calif. After graduating from college she moved to Mississippi where she worked with the Red Cross during World War II.That is where she meet Jack Tebaldi. They knew each other three weeks and got married on April 20, 1945. They moved to Alameda County, Calif. They resided in Fremont, Calif. Emelia and Jack raised five children in Fremont. They renewed their vows of 63 years on April 26, 2008.

Emelia enjoyed traveling to Idaho and Washington every year to visit her family and friends until her health kept her from going. Family was very important to her. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother (Nana).

She is survived by four children, Jackie Rice of Havelock, N.C., Michael Tebaldi of Lathrop, Calif., Dennis Tebaldi of Placerville, Calif., and Christine Galan of McMinnville, Ore.; 19 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Gordon Mead of Pinehurst, Idaho, and William Mead of Post Falls, Idaho; as well as friends, and neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jack, who passed away June 28, 2008; a daughter, Leona Gonzales; three brothers, and a sister.

Visitation will be held on Thursday Sept. 4, 2008, from 5-8:30 p.m. at Holy Angels Funeral Center, 1051 Harder Road, Hayward, CA 94542. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, Sept. 5, 2008, at 9 a.m. at Holy Spirit Church 37588 Fremont, CA 94536. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 26320 Mission Blvd. Hayward CA.
