Put kid, not politics, first when it comes to safety

I seldom agree with Molly O'Reilly or, for that matter, Steve Lockwood but as David Sawyer has shown us,  no one is always wrong.

In the issue of the Safe Routes to Schools grant, Ms. O'Reilly is absolutely correct. For many years, the Idaho Transportation Department has sought ways to control access along Highway 2 and stop the free-for-all that currently exists.

This crossing light would only slightly accelerate the inevitable changes that are planned for that area. To put children in harm's way for political gamesmanship is despicable.
