Robert M. Sim, 84

Robert M. Sim, 84, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, in Phoenix, Ariz.

Robert was born Aug.  27, 1924, in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada to Douglas and Ruby Sim. 

He served in the Canadian Navy during World War II on a submarine mine sweeper, Thunder, named after Thunder Bay, Canada.

After the Navy, Robert moved to California and was a general contractor. 

After retiring he started traveling, loving to fish and found his way to Jeb & Margaret's Trailer Haven in Hope, Idaho, and spent 17 summers there.

Robert loved to fish in Idaho on Lake Pend Oreille and in Montana.

Robert, is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy of Phoenix; two sisters, Rowena Donaldson, Tracy, Calif., and Margaret Bornino of Lake Tahoe, Calif.; a son, Robert M. Sim of California; a daughter, Susan Francis of Hawaii; a stepdaughter, Cheryl Galsini of California; two stepsons, Wayne Krueger (Melissa) and David Krueger of Phoenix; three nieces in California; and also several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Stephen Sim; and a stepson, Marvin Krueger.

Memorial services will be Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, at 11 a.m. at The Church of the Beatitudes, Phoenix, Ariz.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Church of the Beatitudes, 555 W. Glendale Ave, Phoenix, Ariz., 85021 to the youth projects.
