Bulldog Bench Kickoff Gathering set

The Bulldog Bench Kickoff Gathering will be held on Friday, Oct. 3, from 5-6:30 p.m. at Hooties at the Elks. There will be appetizers and a no host bar, before everyone heads to Barlow Stadium for the football game against Lewiston at 7 p.m.

"Come out and meet the new board of directors and hear what Bulldog Bench has planned for this school year," said long-time Bulldog Bench president Bob Witte. "You won't be hit up for donations or asked to commit your time, this is just a get together to introduce the public to our new board and let you know what we plan on accomplishing this year."

Witte will be introducing new Vice President Tye Barlow, Treasurer Jay Van Den Berg and Secretary Matt Mire.

"It's very exciting that there are so many new members coming on board this year and to see Bulldog Bench growing strong once again," said Witte. "We need this type of help so that we can support Sandpoint High School athletics wherever it is needed."

n Bulldog Bench golf scramble returns

The Panhandle State Bank Fall Scramble Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, Oct. 4, at 10 a.m. at Stoneridge Golf Course. The four-person scramble costs $75 per person and includes green fees, cart, lunch, tee prizes and range balls. Tee and green sponsorships are available for $100 each.

"It's been two years since we've put on our traditional fall scramble and the support in the community has been tremendous. I think people really missed this fun event and it's great that our new golf committee members have gotten so behind it," said Bob Witte. "The folks at Stoneridge are providing us with a wonderful opportunity to generate the money we need to help support Sandpoint High School athletics. The tournament is open for players of all abilities so sign up your team today."
