Bulldogs defeat Timberlake in soccer action

COEUR d'ALENE - Lake City senior Kurt Meyer tied it up with an assist from Michael Lepitch in the 25th minute, but Sandpoint responded with two more first-half goals to beat the Timberwolves in Inland Empire League play.

"This is my first class of seniors that were with me my first season.  It's not the outcome we wanted on senior night, but the kids played hard," Lake City coach Chad Beadell said. "We rebounded from an early own goal and had great chances in the second half. We were just unlucky."

Goalkeeper Scott Fraser finished with three saves for Lake City (3-3-1, 3-1 IEL).

Daniel Anderson scored his 11th goal of the season on a penalty kick, and Tanner French finished a nice pass from Adam Crossingham for the Bulldogs' goals.

Sandpoint (8-1, 4-1 IEL) is at Bonners Ferry on Thursday.

n JV team takes down Coeur d'Alene

The Sandpoint JV boys soccer team beat Couer d'Alene 3-1 on Saturday in Sandpoint.

Clayton Weme scored an unassisted goal, a left footed rocket from 25 yards out, to tie it up 1-1 before the half. In the second half, Connor Currie scored a goal to make it 2-1, then Matt Miller scored the final goal on an assist from Peik Wahl.
