Beatrice Adell Glahe, 83

Beatrice Adell Glahe, 83, of Sandpoint, died peacefully at home on Sept. 21, 2008.

She was born Feb. 9, 1925, in Roseau, Minn., the daughter of Pearl (Yost) and George Listug.

She left home and went to work for Honeywell in Minneapolis/ St. Paul when World War II started.

In 1944, she moved to Idaho with her family.

She met Lawrence W Glahe, the love of her life, at a dance at the Oden Grange.

On April 5, 1945 they were married.

She gave birth to two children before moving to Tumwater, Wash., in 1953.

Beatrice and her husband moved back to the family home in Hope in 1976.

A couple years ago, they moved into Sandpoint. Beatrice will be remembered for her soft-spoken words, kindness and devotion to her family. We love you mom.

Her parents and her sister, Silvia Becker, preceded Beatrice in death.

 She is survived by her husband, Lawrence; son Larry and daughter-in-law Jackie Glahe; daughter Deonna and son-in law Curt Harris; grandchildren Nikki Glahe of Tacoma, Wash.,  Shana (Glahe) and Steve O'Donnell of Boise, Tyson and Sarah Glahe of Hope, Joeli and Jeff Martin of Grover Beach, Calif., Curtis and Christy Harris of Rochester, Wash., Tony and Joy Harris of Hope, and Jackie Dobbins of Rochester, Wash.; and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother George and Marj Listug of Hope, Kathleen Scramstad of Newburg, Ore., Rose McKenzie of The Dalles, Ore., Ruth Cleveland of Alabama, Lily Huddleston of Rufus, Ore.; a sister-in-law, Mary Irene Glahe of Coburg, Ore.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A special appreciation for Ginger Banks, her niece, for all her help and the joy she brought to the family over the years and their close friends, Bill and Freida Fournier.

No public services will be held at Beatrice's request.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
