Paul William Donaghue

Paul William Donaghue of Sandpoint, Idaho, was born Aug. 2, 1969, in Shawnee Mission, Kan., the son of Alan Dean and Mary Susan Eggleston Donaghue. He died Sept. 20, 2008, at Scripps Mercy Hospital in Chula Vista, Calif.

Mr. Donaghue attended elementary and junior high school in Shawnee Mission and graduated Shawnee Mission East High School in 1988.

He was a third-generation Jayhawk, graduating from the University of Kansas in 1993; his parents in 1960 and his maternal grandfather in 1924.

In Sandpoint, Mr. Donaghue was employed as the executive chef at the Hidden Lakes Country Club and The Idaho Club. Previously he was a chef in Bend, Ore., Moab, Utah, and Kansas City, Mo.

Mr. Donaghue was a member of Village Presby-terian Church in Prairie Village, Kan., and active in youth groups.

Mr. Donaghue is survived by his mother, Mary Susan Eggleston Donaghue of Prairie Village, Kan.; his sister Amy Lucinda Donaghue Julo; brother-in-law, Mark Julo; and two nieces, Briana Julo and Abigail Julo of Atchison,Kan.

He is also survived by his aunt, Lucinda Eggleston Rohrs; and cousins, Gretchen Mary Rohrs and Sara Elizabeth Rohrs of Columbia, Mo.

Mr. Donaghue was preceded in death by his father, Alan Dean Donaghue; paternal grandparents, Leo Marion and Orpha Hurn Donaghue; and maternal grandparents, Dr. Donald Edwin and Mary Ethyl Sagaser Eggleston.

Paul Donaghue will be fondly remembered in the Sandpoint area for his smile, exuberant spirit, passion for the outdoors and love for his friends.

Memorial services for Mr. Donaghue will be in Sandpoint at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008, at the First Presbyterian Church, 417 N. Fourth Ave., followed by a potluck gathering of friends at Woods Wheatcroft Photography, 524 Church St., Sandpoint.
