Award nominations sought

Each year during National Small Business Week, the U.S. Small Business Administration honors top small business owners for contributions to America's economic well-being.

SBA is accepting nominations for several SBA award categories including the prestigious 2009 Small Business Person of the Year Award. A business owner may nominate themselves or other candidates.

The nomination criteria for all award categories can be found by visiting the SBA Web site at www.sba.gov/id spotlight section or by contacting Larry Demirelli of the Boise SBA Office at (208) 334-9004, ext 329, or larry.demirelli@sba.gov.

The deadline for all nominations is Nov. 14, 2008.

Award categories include: small business person of the year, minority small business champion, women in business champion, veteran small business champion, small business exporter of the year, financial services champion, small business journalist champion, young entrepreneur of the year, home based business champion, family-owned small business of the year, entrepreneurial success, phoenix award for small business disaster recovery, and various federal procurement awards.
