Mildred Lucille Leaverton Rude

Daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandma, little grandma and friend. Born July 2, 1917 in Andes, Mont., to Vance LaRue Leaverton and Lorena Geraldine Farquhar Leaverton. Graduated from Richey High School in Richey, Mont. Married Carl Douglas Rude of St. Louis Park, Minn., on Sept, 8, 1938. Passed away March 30, 2009, in Davenport, Wash.

Millie was a beautician for many years in Hope and Sagle, Idaho. She loved pinochle, her Monday and Friday bridge, talking on the phone, books on tape, her family, people, and dark chocolate .

Millie is survived by one daughter, Bonnie (Gene) Smith of Fort Spokane, Wash.; two grandchildren, Jodie Smith of Federal Way, Wash., and Mike (Rebecca) Smith of Nine Mile Falls, Wash.; five great-grandchildren, Brandi, Brittany, and Alexis of Federal Way, and Morgan and Andrew of Nine Mile Falls; brother-in-law Russ Rude of Minneapolis, Minn.; three nieces, Donna (Allan) Ellstrom of Knoxville, Tenn., Anita (Greg) Seivert of Tacoma, Wash., and Sandra (Kim) Linhart of LaCrosse, Wis.; three nephews, Fran Flatten of Plymouth, Minn., Jack (Diane) Leaverton of Boise, Idaho, and Tim (Linda) Rude of Chanhassen, Minn.; eleven great-nieces and great-nephews, and two very special friends, June  and Marcella.

Memorial services will be conducted by Pastors Roger Bruggink and Phil Falk on April 18, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church at Egypt, Wash. (mile marker 16, U.S. Highway 25) north of Davenport, Wash.
