Stone leads Bulldog girls
POST FALLS — Colton Story shot a 79 and Dan Sommerfield an 80 to lead Sandpoint, but with all five players shooting 76 or better, Coeur d’Alene’s boys shot 294 to win the Trojan Invitational by 11 strokes Thursday at Prairie Falls Golf Club.
All five Bulldog boys broke 100 for the first time this season, still trying to close the gap on Moscow, their chief 4A rival.
Michelle Stone carded a 94 to lead the Sandpoint girls, who finished fourth overall out of 11 teams in a strong showing. Jesse Webster and Sandy Whalen each shot 100 as the Bulldogs continue to drop scores as they gain more playing time.
Moscow was the top girls team, and Genna Dodge of Post Falls tied for low score with a 6-under 77.
Sandpoint’s boys and girls teams are both at the Coeur d’Alene Invite Monday at Avondale Golf Course.
