Giving in to global warming
Call me crazy but I’m starting to believe all those thousands of scientists who for years have been warning us about the dangers of man-made global warming.
What a year, huh? Schweitzer unable to open due to lack of snow, the mountain’s employees still on unemployment, barely able to feed their families, and the poor saps who bought snowplows thinking they could pick up a few extra bucks this winter.
I couldn’t even tell you where my snowblower is. I think it’s somewhere in the back of the garage, covered by personal flotation devices, water skis and inflated inner tubes. The lines at the boat ramp at City Beach are starting to get to me.
I sure hope our honest, hardworking members of Congress hurry up and pass that carbon tax initiative. At least I’ll know the 10 percent deduction from my paycheck will go a long way in stopping this insidious, oppressive heat. In the meantime, I gotta get me some more sun block for our hike up to Chimney Rock tomorrow. You can’t find any in the stores, they’re all sold out.
