Hardy, Helander pace Bulldogs in rout of Bears
SANDPOINT — All six Sandpoint singles players were victorious, leading a strong showing as the Sandpoint tennis team whipped Moscow 10-2 Thursday afternoon at Travers Park.
Ben Hardy made his debut at No. 1 boys singles, registering a crisp straight set win and impressing his coach.
“Ben settle down and overpowered the guy,” said Bulldogs coach Kent Anderson of Hardy. “He got his serve going and it gave him confidence, then he just took it to him.”
Anderson was also pleased with the play of Kevin Kirby at No. 2 boys singles, and Abby Helander, who returned to singles for the first time this season and promptly registered a solid win.
Sandpoint heads to Lewiston on Saturday.
