Nash caps strong Top Dog season with title

SANDPOINT — The Top Dog Wrestling Club concluded its off season training program with athletes competing in various tournaments between the Viper Quad State Championships at Spokane’s East Valley High School, the Big Horn Invitational at Riverside High School, and the Cyclops Invitational in Butte, Montana.

Top Dog Scout Nash continued his winning ways over the course of the season’s final two tournaments. Posting seven wins against one loss, Nash captured the Viper Quad State Tournament and finished second at the Big Horn Invitational in Chattaroy. Over the course of the year Nash advanced to the finals in eight tournaments. Joining Nash on the podium on consecutive occasions was Casey Randles, who finished second at the Cyclops, the Viper, and the Big Horn.

At the senior level, Sandpoint High School freshman Justin Pepperdine earned his first freestyle medal with a third place finish at the Big Horn. Sophomore teammate Kyle Csizmar, who compiled a 12-2 off-season record, also posted multiple wins to finish second at the Big Horn.

Big Horn: Canyon Nash 2nd; Scout Nash 2nd; Brock Kluver 3rd; Casey Randles 2nd; Owen Stebbins 1st; Kyle Csizmar 2nd; Justin Pepperdine 3rd.
