New organization to help animals
Concerned People for Animals, Inc. (CPA) is no longer operating in Bonners Ferry.
The animal welfare organization known in Bonners Ferry as “CPA” is no longer a branch of Concerned People for Animals (CPA). The group is now legally “Caring People for Animals, Inc.”, (CPFA) and is currently applying for recognition as a separate nonprofit organization.
A year ago, Ami Jo Gibson, director of the North Idaho branch of Concerned People for Animals (CPA), generously welcomed a Bonners Ferry group to operate as a nonprofit under her organization’s name, and supplied advice for starting their work. Now, instead of depending on the by-laws and mission of the organization, Caring People for Animals (CPFA) will tailor operations and services specifically for Boundary County needs. Concerned People for Animals (CPA) no longer operates in Bonners Ferry.
Bonners Ferry residents who joined Concerned People for Animals, Inc. are now valid members of Caring People for Animals (CFPA), whose primary mission is to encourage and financially support pet spay and neuter. As funds allow, the organization will also continue the Pet Food Bank, Friends of the Ferals (cats), and Pet Medical Assistance programs for senior and disabled residents. Caring People for Animals (CFPA) already fosters a few pets and hopes to expand their rescue program as space permits.
Caring People for Animals (CPFA) is committed to helping the needs of pet owners in Boundary County and is grateful for the community’s continued support. For further information, please call Alice Miller at 267-2054 or 610-4817.
