Bulldogs blanked by IEL power Timberwolves

| April 28, 2009 9:00 PM

SANDPOINT — Jamie Hall smacked two home runs and drove in four, and Jessica Ross also went deep, and the pair combined for six hits to lead Lake City to an 11-0 win over Sandpoint Tuesday in IEL softball action at wind-swept Travers Park.

Kallie Neal and Ross combined on a three-hit shutout, and the Lake City (18-2, 12-1 IEL) bats came alive midway through the game, putting up crooked numbers in the final four frames.

“We didn’t come out intimidated and battled them (Lake City) for the first four innings,” said Bulldogs coach Derek Dickinson. “Then their skill just took over.”

Molly Givens was solid on the mound for the Bulldogs (0-16, 0-9 IEL), keeping the Lake City hitters off balance with a nasty change up early in the game.

Jesse Mead had a double, and seniors Jarae Marienau and Jessica Tucker also singled for the Bulldogs.
