SANDPOINT — It says much about how solid Sandpoint is this season that the lone match head coach Kent Anderson wanted to highlight was the only one his team lost Wednesday, as the Bulldogs cruised to an 11-1 win over the first year Lakeland Hawks.

Meranda Carter lost 4-6, 6-1, 7-5 to Denise Schumacher at No. 1 singles in a match that lasted nearly three-hours amid windy conditions.

“Meranda was playing a German exchange student who was really good,” said Anderson. “It was a war, in tough conditions.”

Crystal Clark and Susan Williams teamed up for a three set win over Taylor Patik and Samantha Goodman at No. 2 doubles. Sandpoint, which juggled its lineup around, won the rest of the matches in straight sets.

The Bulldogs are at the Inland Empire tournament in Spokane this weekend.
