Albert Eugene Meyers

| April 30, 2009 9:00 PM

On Wednesday April 29, 2009, at 3:45 a.m., Albert Eugene Meyers, (Al) left this world and stepped into the world of Yeshua, (Hebrew meaning Salvation, the Hebrew name for Jesus) and is bowing before the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.

Al was born in Port Author, Texas, on March 10, 1946. Still remaining in the area are his brother’s Johnny, Bobby, and Junior and his two sisters Audrey and Connie along with many wonderful nieces and nephews.

While in the Nav0,y Al served two tours of duty in Vietnam and settled in Long Beach, Calif., were he met his wife, Dorothy, and daughter, Valerie, who quickly worked her way into his heart.

In 1987, they all moved to Hope, Idaho. Al made a nice life for himself and family. He was a drummer for many years and enjoyed touching people with his music and meeting fellow musicians.

Al worked with Lake Pend Orielle School Dist. No.: 83 at Sandpoint High School for 16 years and brought home many funny stories of his time with the district.

Attending First Baptist Church in Sandpoint, Al was introduced to His Lord and began a walk of faith and obedience to God.

As Al’s walk with HaShem grew and deepened he became a member and a Shamashim, (deacon) at Beth Shalom Messianic Congregation. Al loved Rabbi John Popp and his wife Laura and the members of Beth Shalom were a large part of Al’s life and he considered them all family.  Al’s heart was for God and His Torah and he shared that with anyone who would listen.

Al loved spending time with his daughter and son-in-law, Valerie and Jason Earnest; and the grandkids, Gene Butler and his girlfriend Rachael Patterson, expecting Al’s first great-grandchild in October;  Hillary Simmons, Al’s little peanut; Bailey Nabors who could make Al laugh with her quick wit; Justice Nabors, (JJ) whose attention to the small details was a gift Al admired; Rock Earnest whose heartfelt love for Al touch him deeply; and little Kiera Earnest who tickled Al with her bright smile and little songs she sings to herself.

Al truly loved the people he has left behind. His family, his brothers and sisters in the Lord, and the many, many friends he met along the way. He would tell you all, “Trust in the Lord and keep His commandments.”

Yate Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
