Bottlenecks will remain a problem

| August 15, 2009 9:00 PM

Wonderful news! We are getting the Dover bridge replaced.

According to Darrell V. Manning, Chairman of the Idaho Transportation Board “The US-2 corridor through Idaho is a key link in this east-west highway. As part of the National Highway System, US 2 is a major east-west connection for northern Idaho to Washington and the West Coast, and Montana and points east.”

The only bottleneck remaining in this major east-west connection is the city of Sandpoint. Now that the “byway” is under construction, the Idaho Transportation Board and the folks who so adamantly supported the “byway” can now begin working on planning a “bypass” to get around the only bottleneck left in this major east-west connection. While they are at it, why not start thinking about a way around the “bottleneck” in the major north-south link known as US 95. The long bridge (two-lanes) and the “byway” (three-lanes) will be “bottlenecks” when all the four-lane miles on US 95 are completed.

Good luck.
