Pair charged with burglary
SANDPOINT — Two 18-year-olds were arrested early Thursday morning after they were allegedly caught red-handed attempting to rip off Serve-A-Burger.
Shawn Daniel Visintin and Cordell Martin Hull, both of Sandpoint, are charged with burglary. Judge Debra Heise ordered the duo held on $20,000 bail each and appointed public defenders to represent them, court records show.
The two were discovered inside the restaurant at about 1:23 a.m., after the alarm system was tripped 12 times within a span of five minutes, the arrest report said. They reluctantly surrendered.
Visintin reportedly told police they discovered a window was slightly ajar earlier and later returned to the business looking for cash and some thrills. Police discovered two paper bags full of coins on a counter and burglary paraphernalia — an assortment which include needle-nosed pliers, handheld radios, knives and finger cots, which are rubber sleeves that stretch over individual fingers.
