Macumber, Komanec lead Wampus Cats past Miners
WALLACE — Clark Fork guard Chelsea Macumber had a most unusual double-double, posting 14 points and a whopping 14 steals to lead the Wampus Cats to a 49-26 North Star League win over host Wallace on Tuesday night.
Many of Gustafson’s steals were the result of some great defensive pressure from Celeste Komanec, who also scored six points.
“Celeste did an excellent job of setting up those steals,” said Cats coach Dexter Vogel. “She would get her player turned and Shaina was picking them from behind.”
Freshman Tessa Vogel added nine points and nine rebounds for the Cats (3-3), who held the Miners to 11 first half points. Chelsea Macumber is back to full speed, and had a solid game with 10 points and seven boards, and Brocklynn Thornton grabbed eight rebounds in the win.
