Gustafson leads Cats to win

CLARK FORK — Shaina Gustafson had her second consecutive double-double with points and steals, tallying 18 points and 10 steals to lead the Wampus Cats to a 61-39 win over Coeur d’Alene Charter Friday night in nonleague girls basketball action.

Gustafson also added six assists, Chelsea Macumber poured in 16 points, Celeste Komanec added 11, and Jessica Cartmell scored six to go with eight rebounds for the streaking Cats (4-3), winners of four straight.

“We’re starting to click,” said Cats coach Dexter Vogel. “The girls are working well together and moving the ball well; it’s fun to watch.”

Paige Kelly led the Panthers with 15 points in defeat.

Clark Fork hosts Timberlake on Tuesday night.
