Is personal economic collapse preferred?

An interesting juxtaposition of letters in Thanksgiving’s edition of the Bee. Courtney Kinney writes a very nice missive praising the life of Buff Johnson and encouraging people to attend his benefit since “his treatments have exhausted his insurance benefits.” Ruth Bushnell castigates the proposed health care plan as a forerunner to “the economic collapse of this country.” Apparently personal economic collapse is preferable to any sort of government interference in the workings of the marketplace.
