| December 9, 2009 8:00 PM

SANDPOINT — The Panhandle Building Contractors Association held its final fundraiser of the year with a wonderfully successful prize giveaway in conjunction with the Sandpoint High School Residential Carpentry Program.  Much of the net proceeds of the event were donated to the SHS program.

Winners were drawn at the monthly membership dinner meeting on Oct. 28.

Additionally, Rick Price, instructor for the SHS Carpentry Program presented to the packed room an overview of the program and how it functions.  Currently, there are 58 high school students enrolled in the program and Price told the audience he is encouraged by what is being delivered to our area youth in providing this type of alternative, vocational education.

Winners were Jason Meyer, Doug Smith, Kathy Morris, Phil Marcy, Tom Brothers, Sheri Krumenacker, John Knowles, Bob Thurston, Connie McCrae, Dayton Fournier, Don Thomas, and Patrick McKenna.

PBCA officials thanked Harvey May Custom Logging & Excavation, The Festival at Sandpoint, North Woods Canoe Company, Laughing Dog Brewery, Woods Meat Processing, Sandpoint Building Supply, Sierra Pacific Windows, and the Bonner County Daily Bee, saying their support made the event a success.
