PENDLETON, Ore. — Sophomore Maggie Kirscher posted a solid double-double, tallying 26 points and 12 rebounds to help the Bulldogs notch their first victory of the season, a 57-41 win over Ontario in the third place game of the Pendleton Tournament on Saturday.

Christina Johnson scored 12, Natasha Roop hit double figures for the third straight game with 10, and Koko James added 11 rebounds for the Bulldogs (1-7), who dominated inside.

“Maggie was a tough matchup for them. She attacked from the high post off the dribble, and posted up down low and finished,” said Bulldogs head coach Lance Bruce, whose team held Ontario to just four first quarter points. “It started with our defensive effort and intensity. We came out super intense and flying around.”

The Bulldogs shot 20-30 from the foul stripe, a marked improvement from earlier in the season.
