Jane Hoover, a  family practice nurse practitioner in Sandpoint for three years, has opened her own practice in collaboration with Michelle Anderson, NP, at 710 Superior Street.

Hoover, with 30 years of nursing experience and 14 years as a nurse practitioner, felt she was ready to make her dream of having her own practice a reality.

Her focus is on providing personalized health care to children and adults in a warm, relaxing atmosphere, Hoover said.

“My hope is to make people feel valued and special with each visit,” she added. “I would like to build a clientele of people who are ready to participate in getting and staying healthier with my guidance and support”

Hoover said she enjoys getting to know families and addressing their changing health care issues throughout their lives.

“I want to know what level of health people want and help them to achieve their goals,” sje added

Jane earned her master’s in nursing at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. She ranked  the dean’s list throughout both her graduate and undergraduate studies. In 2006, Jane moved to Priest River to marry Rod Dosher.”

“We dated for five years while I lived in Colville, Wash.,” she said. “We took turns driving over Flowery Trail Pass each weekend before deciding to get married.”

Her two children, Nicholas, 28, who served in the Navy for nine years, is employed as a nuclear engineer in Ohio and Matthew, 25, is a chef at Kroger’s in Morgantown, W.V.

Hoover was drawn to the Inland Northwest for its natural beauty and its people. She enjoys backpacking, skiing, rafting and biking.

“I love getting out with people whether I am hiking or enjoying a glass of wine at one of the local venues,” she added.

Hoover is looking forward to community involvement both in Priest River and Sandpoint.
