Demonstrators do not belong at book signing

| December 19, 2009 8:00 PM

I was appalled and ashamed this morning on reading of the protesters at Sara Plain’s book signing last Thursday.

The last I checked it was not a political rally; it was a book signing, people. So you don’t like her. OK, we get that but I thought this was a supposed to be a town of tolerance, brotherly love and showing people respect. Did you show respect to a family which lived here at one time and served the community?

The woman made the special trip here because this was her birthplace and a few small-minded people had to make a statement that they did not like her. What is wrong with you, people? Are you that afraid of her and what she might become in the future?

No, I did not go to the book signing or buy her book, but you can bet I will now.

As for Jenni Roberts-Martin, I apologize for the harsh words you received toward your children as you were trying to teach them that you do not need to respect other people or their views because if they are different than yours; they are wrong.
