Gustafson leads Cats to win
COEUR d’ALENE — Shaina Gustafson just missed a triple-double, scoring 10 points to go with eight assists and a whopping 15 steals to lead Clark Fork to a 50-28 win over Coeur d’Alene Charter Tuesday in nonleague girls basketball at Holy Family Catholic School.
Celeste Komanec added 10 and Zara Palmer eight, Brocklynn Thornton grabbed a team-high nine rebounds and the Wampus Cats (5-4) capitalized on a host of turnovers by the Panthers (4-5), who got 13 points from Paige Kelly and eight steals from Dominique Billingslea.
It was a rough-looking game, but I’m happy with our play tonight,” said Cats coach Dexter Vogel. “The girls are looking good and passing the ball well.”
Clark Fork (5-4) travels to Lakeside on Dec. 29 in a North Star League game.
