Anna Pauline Olson Johnson

Anna Pauline Olson Johnson died peacefully on Dec. 20, 2009, at the home of her daughter in Bountiful, Utah, from the effects of leukemia and age.

She was born Sept. 10, 1921, to Carl Andreas and Helma Amanda Thoreson Olson at their home in Scobey, Mont.. She was the second daughter and the fourth child.

Anna lived most of her life before marriage in Cowley, Wyo.

In February 1946, she married Randall LaFol-lette Johnson, and the marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. She is the mother to four sons and four daughters, all of whom survive her.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served therein all of her life. She held many positions of responsibility and trust in the church including Relief Society President. She and Randall served an extraction mission later in their lives, and were temple ordinance workers in the Boise Temple for several years.

Anna is survived by her younger sister, Viola (Charles) Averett of Brigham City, Utah; and her brother, Vincent (Gladys) Olson of Orem, Utah; sons, Rodney (Mary Irene) Johnson of Hayden, Idaho; Darl (Mary Jane) Johnson of Orem, Utah; Paul (Connie) Johnson of Boise, and David (Mary Lynette) Johnson of Avondale, Ariz.; daughters, Greta (Gerald “Jerry”) Fogle of Taylorsville, Utah, Loretta Johnson of Fargo, N.D.; Delma Johnson of Bountiful, Utah, and Mary Ann (Kent) Pickering of Payson, Utah; and an honorary daughter, Christy Lewis. Thirty-four called her Grandma and she was a great-grandmother to 32.

She was preceded in death by her eternal companion, Randall; her mother and father; brothers, Helmer and Clifford; sisters, Dagney and Violet; and a grandson, Jerry J. Olson.

Funeral services were held at the Bountiful 7th Ward, 1250 South Main, Bountiful, UT at 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 28, 2009. Interment was at the Taylorsville Cemetery, 4575 S. Redwood Rd., Taylorsville UT.
